SHRED MOTO / Parts explained
Shred Pegs vs Shred Brackets: what is included?
Shred Pegs are complete footpeg assemblies. Shred Brackets are separate offset brackets for compatible existing two-piece aftermarket pegs. Choose the mounting family as well as the package: the current M8 bracket offer does not include footpegs.

First decide whether you need the peg itself
A complete Shred Peg assembly includes the foot-contact surface as part of the product. A Shred Bracket is intended for a rider who already has a compatible two-piece aftermarket footpeg and wants to retain it. The bracket and complete assembly are separate purchases with separate fitment questions.
This distinction is easy to miss in old photos or listings that use related product names. Read the included-components description before comparing prices. A photograph of mounting brackets should never be read as proof that a complete peg set is in the package.
| Product family | What it provides | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Original Shred Pegs 3.0 | Complete original-mount peg assembly with diamond-cut grip | Original stock mid-control application and model-specific cautions |
| Complete M8 Shred Pegs | Complete M8 peg assembly | M8 rider mid-control requirements and current availability |
| Original Universal Shred Brackets | Separate brackets for compatible existing two-piece pegs | Traditional application and its listed 5/16-inch threading |
| M8 Universal Shred Brackets | Machined bracket pair with ARP stainless hardware; no footpegs | Listed M8 rider mounts plus the existing peg through-bolt and connection |
Then choose the correct mounting family
Choosing brackets rather than a complete peg does not settle whether the part fits the motorcycle. Original traditional-mount products and M8 products are different applications. The current M8 bracket listing covers the listed Softail Low Rider models with stock rider mid-controls, excluding Dyna and passenger mounts.
For bracket-only products, the existing peg is another connection to check. Identify its exact model, through-bolt and mounting arrangement. The M8 source names examples from Speed Merchant and Thrashin, but that is not a promise that every peg from those brands interchanges.
Separate the offset from the grip surface
The current M8 bracket description specifies a 1.5-inch upward offset for compatible pegs. It does not include a diamond-cut foot-contact surface. That grip description belongs to the complete Shred Peg products, not to the contents of the bracket-only package.
An upward offset describes the peg position; it is not a measured claim about the motorcycle’s complete cornering clearance. The original peg listing specifically cautions that other parts on certain stock-height motorcycles can contact the ground before the raised pegs. Do not turn a component dimension into a guaranteed riding outcome.
If you already own Shred parts
Identify the exact original product before asking about replacement pegs or an upgrade. Include photos and the motorcycle’s year, model and controls. Do not assume an original bracket, an M8 bracket and a complete assembly share every connection merely because they carry the Shred name.
The original Shred Peg description invites existing bracket owners to contact Shred about separate peg upgrades. That invitation is a fitment and availability question, not confirmation that a particular replacement is currently stocked. The product pages carry the current ordering status.
Shred Pegs and the current M8 Shred Brackets are for racetrack use only. Keep their installation and application requirements with the specific part you select.
QUICK ANSWERS
Common questions
Will buying M8 Shred Brackets give me complete footpegs?
No. The current bracket package includes machined brackets and ARP stainless hardware. You need compatible existing two-piece aftermarket footpegs.
Are original brackets and M8 brackets interchangeable?
They are separate mounting applications. Check the motorcycle mount, specific bracket and existing peg connection rather than assuming interchangeability.
Can I order replacement peg tops for brackets I already own?
Contact Shred with the exact assembly and photos. The original listing invites upgrade questions, but compatibility and current availability need confirmation.
