M8 Shred Brackets fitment: what to check before ordering
M8 Shred Brackets are for the listed Softail Low Rider models with stock rider mid-controls and compatible two-piece aftermarket footpegs. Confirm the actual mount and peg through-bolt before ordering. The brackets do not include footpegs.

Start with the model code and year
Write down the motorcycle’s model year and full model code before comparing parts. “Low Rider” appears across different Harley platforms, and the name alone does not identify the footpeg mount. A used motorcycle may also have controls that differ from its original configuration.
The table below follows the current Shred M8 product listing. It applies to the rider position with stock mid-control footpeg mounts. Treat it as the starting point for a fitment check, then identify the controls and pegs actually installed on your bike.
| Model | Code | Listed model years |
|---|---|---|
| Low Rider | FXLR | 2018–2020 |
| Low Rider S | FXLRS | 2020+ |
| Low Rider ST | FXLRST | 2022+ |
Check both connections
There are two fitment questions: whether the bracket matches the motorcycle’s rider mount, and whether the existing aftermarket footpeg can attach to the bracket. Matching the motorcycle does not resolve the peg connection.
This product retains a compatible two-piece aftermarket footpeg. Identify the peg manufacturer, exact model and revision, and check its through-bolt size and mounting arrangement. The archived manufacturer listing mentions Speed Merchant and Thrashin examples; it does not establish compatibility with every product from either brand.
- Confirm the rider mount is the stock M8 mid-control configuration.
- Identify the existing two-piece aftermarket peg and its through-bolt.
- Photograph the mount and peg connection clearly if either is uncertain.
- Get separate confirmation for modified mounts or forward-control conversions.
Keep other applications separate
M8 Shred Brackets are different from the traditional-mount Universal Shred Brackets. Do not use the older bracket’s 5/16-inch specification as an M8 bolt specification. The current M8 listing requires a through-bolt check without giving a universal dimension for every aftermarket peg.
The M8 offer excludes 2017-and-earlier Dyna Low Rider mounts and passenger mounts. A familiar model name, a matching finish or a similar-looking bracket is not enough to establish interchangeability.
Know what you are ordering
The current product is a pair of machined M8 offset brackets with ARP stainless hardware. It raises the compatible peg position by 1.5 inches. Footpegs are not included, and this bracket-only photograph does not show a complete Shred Peg assembly.
Shred Brackets are for racetrack use only. A raised peg position does not establish an overall lean-angle gain or prove that another component will clear the track. The purchaser and installer must determine suitability for the application.
Before contacting Shred, gather the model year, model code, control setup, peg identification and mount photos. Keep those details together so the question can be checked against the actual combination rather than the bike’s name alone.
QUICK ANSWERS
Common questions
Do M8 Shred Brackets include footpegs?
No. The current offer is a pair of machined brackets with ARP stainless hardware for compatible existing two-piece aftermarket footpegs.
Can I use them on a Dyna Low Rider?
The M8 brackets exclude 2017-and-earlier Dyna Low Rider mounts. Identify the platform, year and actual mount before selecting a different product.
Does a listed Low Rider model guarantee my modified bike fits?
No. The listed application uses stock rider mid-controls. Modified controls, conversions and the existing peg connection need separate confirmation.
