SHRED MOTO / Track & race
Planning your first Harley track day
Start with the track-day organizer before booking or changing the bike. Ask whether your Harley and experience level fit the event, read the current rider and equipment requirements, and plan for inspection, the riders’ meeting and coaching.

Ask about the event before booking
Choose a specific event and ask its organizer about your motorcycle and riding background. Send the year, model and relevant changes, and explain that this would be your first track day. Ask which group or introductory program they recommend and whether your bike is eligible.
A street motorcycle, a track-day motorcycle and a race-entry motorcycle are not interchangeable categories. An event’s acceptance and preparation rules belong to that organizer. Neither a product marked for racetrack use nor a photograph of a similar Harley establishes that your bike will be admitted.
- Is this motorcycle eligible for this event and group?
- What support is available for a first-time track rider?
- Which rider, motorcycle and protective-equipment documents apply?
- What should be resolved before paying for a place?
Read the current requirements together
Use the organizer’s current rider, gear and bike-preparation documents for the actual event. TrackDaz publishes separate pages for those subjects; N2 provides manuals and forms. They are useful examples of the documents to locate, not a combined standard that every track day follows.
Make a short list of unclear requirements and ask the organizer before making purchases or modifications. Confirm what must be brought, what will be inspected and when the bike must be ready. Arrange any mechanical preparation with a qualified person using the applicable instructions.
Resolve parts and control questions before the day
Write down what is fitted to the motorcycle, including the controls and footpegs. If you are considering Shred parts, use the exact product’s fitment and installation requirements. Original pegs, M8 complete assemblies and M8 brackets are different products; an M8 bracket purchase does not include footpegs.
Raised pegs do not establish the clearance of the whole motorcycle or guarantee inspection acceptance. Shred Pegs and M8 Shred Brackets are for racetrack use only. Ask about suitability for your setup rather than using a component change as a substitute for preparing the bike to the organizer’s requirements.
Leave room for the morning schedule
Get the event’s arrival instructions and schedule in advance. Mark registration, inspection, the riders’ meeting and any first-time-rider briefing. N2’s typical-day outline is one example of how an organizer explains the sequence; use your booked event’s times and instructions.
Plan transport, fuel, food, water and a place to rest between sessions. Check what is available at the venue and what you need to bring. Keep the organizer’s contact details, booking information and preparation notes together so that an unanswered question does not become a last-minute paddock problem.
Tell the organizer or assigned coach what you are riding and what you want help with. Shred can discuss its parts and your control setup. The event organizer remains the source for group placement, attendance requirements and permission to ride.
QUICK ANSWERS
Common questions
Can I take my Harley to any motorcycle track day?
Ask the specific organizer before booking. Motorcycle eligibility, rider groups and preparation requirements vary by event; this guide does not establish acceptance.
Do I need Shred parts for my first track day?
This guide does not make a Shred purchase a requirement. Start with the organizer’s rules and the condition and suitability of your actual motorcycle.
Does this guide replace the event’s inspection checklist?
No. Use the current documents for your booked event and resolve questions with its organizer. This is a planning guide, not an inspection approval or installation procedure.
